Fingerprint Scanner Not Connecting

If your fingerprint scanner isn’t connecting, this guide helps you quickly check and re-establish the connection. It walks you through opening a practice transaction in the Live Scan app to determine if the scanner is recognized by looking for the “Scan” button.

 

# Follow the steps below if your fingerprint scanner is not connecting

1. Open the Live Scan App and Login

3. Go to the fingerprinting page and see if there is a "Scan" button (Note: If there is a "Scan" Button, your scanner is connected!)

4. If you do not see a "Scan Button" unplug your Fingerprint Scanner from the computer and unplug the wire from the scanner itself (if possible)

5. If you are able to unplug the wire from the scanner, firmly plug it back in the scanner, ensuring it is plugged in all the way, and then plug the scanner back into the computer.

6. Click "Reconnect Scanner" and wait for it to load. Once it is done loading, the "Scan" Button should show up.
