Troubleshooting Device Unable to Power On
This guide offers friendly advice for when your device won’t power on. It walks you through checking essential power connections and trying simple resets—like holding down the power button or disconnecting peripherals—to clear any power issues. # Device does not power on when started
1. Check that the device is plugged into the original charger and that the charger is firmly connected to a wall outlet
2. If the device still will not power on following this, hold the power button down for 20 seconds, then release the button before attempting to power the laptop back on
3. Attempt the steps below

Disconnect all peripherals and cabled connections

Remove the laptop’s battery

Once the battery is removed, hold down power button as if you were turning on the laptop

This will release any latent power in the motherboard

Hold down power button for 10-15 seconds

Release power button

Re-install battery

Connect power cable only, making sure the cable is firmly plugged in, and if the cable is in two parts, that the wall cable is firmly plugged into the power brick

Boot up computer.
If you do not have a battery that is removable, you can do a hard shut down, then after 30 seconds of all lights being off and fans having stopped, boot back up.
